🎯 What is Trinity Grade 1 Piano?

Aural Tests (ear training)

📚 Trinity Exam Syllabus: Grade 1 (2025)

Here’s what students need to prepare:

✅ Performance Pieces

  • You choose 3 pieces from List A, B, and C. Each list has different styles (Classical, Jazz, Folk, Modern).

Pro Tip: Choose pieces that match the student’s interest and playing style.

✅ Technical Work

Scales: C major, G major, A minor (hands separately)

Broken Chords: C major, G major, A minor

Hands must be correct: curved fingers, even tone

✅ Sight Reading / Musical Knowledge

Piano: Sight-reading short melody

Keyboard: Answer questions about your piece (note names, dynamics, etc.)

✅ Aural Tests

Clap back rhythms

Sing back short melodies

Identify dynamics (loud/soft), tempo (fast/slow)

🕐 How Much Practice Time is Needed?

For beginners, 20–30 minutes per day is a good starting point.

Weekly goals:

3 days for pieces
